Like every year, when Christmas is just around the corner, a ball of sadness wraps my heart.

I still don’t understand if it does it to protect me from pain or to make me realize new thoughts, full of warmth.

I confess, I love Christmas, I listen to its themed songs for hours, I love the decorations that beautify the cities and that cinnamon scent that, I don’t know, has the power to awaken childhood memories and this alone would be worth living serenely the holiday.

Yet I am sad! Because I think of those who don’t have a family, those who don’t have a home, those who don’t have anything to eat, those who Christmas makes no difference.

And this is 22% of the poverty declared in my Country, then, unfortunately, there is deeper poverty, the roots of which alas haven’t met a storm capable of eradicating them, not even the pandemic has served as teaching.

I’m talking about the poverty of kind gestures, altruism, respect, civic sense, love… and without all this, now tell me, what is Christmas?

“Dear Santa, it’s still me and also this year you wear the same shoes as my dad. You must like them so much! So, as a gift, I’d like you to teach me how to knit well so I can make sense of this ball of sadness. For example, I could make heart warmers, for all those who still believe that your gifts are material. Listen, do you tell him that what you are wearing is not touched but felt? It is the hope that you can always exist.”

      Grazie cara Lucia ❤️

      ❤️🎄❤️

    “È Natale ogni volta
    che sorridi a un fratello
    e gli tendi la mano.
    È Natale ogni volta
    che rimani in silenzio
    per ascoltare l’altro…”

    Ah se tutti lo capissero…🎅🏽🎄❣️
