I often reflect on the transience of life and I am surprised to experience conflicting emotions. I’m happy to be alive and I’m afraid of dying.
If I could represent my feelings, Ikd draw a heart in the shape of a scale, one of the ancient ones, with two arms, used to weigh stones and precious metals because feelings have an important specific weight and precision helps us to stay in balance.
Happiness and fear are the keys to understanding the real weight of life.
If there were no fear of any kind, life would be taken for granted. On the contrary, without happiness, there would be no fear of losing it either.
Um… I think I understand the mechanism but I still want to give it a try, I take two weights of fear and two of happiness and put them on my balance wheel… but maybe it doesn’t work so well, time must have worn out some gear and I feel that to reach the perfect balance, I need to add another weight, but which one?
My hand is about to grab the most obvious one, the happiness one, thinking it’s never enough and while I reach out, I see the needle hanging towards fear and I think:
“Why should fear outweigh happiness?”
Then I finally understood: you overcome the fear, thus the happiness remains.
I take the right weight and feel I am no longer afraid… of living.

A volte tutto quello che ci può rendere felici sta semplicemente dietro la paura…Sarebbe tutto più semplice se ce ne rendessimo conto ❤️
