«Dad dad how tall am I?»
«Like yesterday. Nothing changed from one day to the next, my little one.»
«Ugh!! I want to grow and become very tall, actually!»
«And you will, but the meter won’t be the unit of measurement to which you will have to relate.»
«For real? And which one then?»
«It is not a tool, it has to do with other values. So let’s see if with this example I can make you understand what I mean. You have to imagine a hot air balloon, in which you boarded the day you were born. Now, there’s only you in it and many bags full of weight that keep it on the ground. At first you will feel safe in there, then the day will come when you want to invite someone to come aboard with you. But there is no space and you’ll have to decide to throw away some sacks.»
«Ok, all clear. Then what happens?»
«It happens that it won’t be easy to choose the bags to be eliminated. In the heavier one there is the safe harbor; in others, however, there are your certainties, habits, fears, values, your beliefs, but also your cultural heritage… there is everything you are: the good and the bad. So what would you eliminate?»
«I have no idea, you could tell me dad that you’re already very tall.»
«Oh no, my little one! Each of us is here to make their own journey and only you can decide how and with whom to do it, what to get rid of and how high you want to reach. But I can reveal you one thing: the more your balloon will be charged with love, the more you will rise, feeling light, at peace with yourself. That will be your true height.»
