“Biddibi boddibi goo!”
They told me I’m a witch, yet my name is not Samantha, I can’t move my nose quickly and I haven’t turned anyone into a cute pet.
The first time it happened, I had just finished cooking. Tasty potatoes were cooking in the oven… but something must have gone wrong. After a few minutes a cloud of black smoke had invaded the whole room and while I was trying to save what could be saved, I went outside in the garden with a blackened face and a charred pot in my hand.
“What’s going on, some wrong ingredient in your potion?” the neighbor said, laughing.
His sympathy was so original and overwhelming… so much that I wanted to… how to say… make it suddenly disappear. Could it be a sign?
“Biddibi boddibi goo! Goo… goo… good evening” I replied hoping for a moment in the magic of that goo, but nothing.
Then there was the clarifying event.
I had always believed that witches were only capable of doing misdeeds and I had never considered white magic… the power of good deeds, the positive thinking that overpowers the negative. The good that magically makes evil disappear. So I changed my strategy and experimented with my powers.
“Hell… hell… hello there! I made a delicious potato flan, this time not charred and I thought I’d get him a potion, er sorry, portion.” I said to my neighbor handing him the plate.
“Thank you, what a good smell…” he replied with unusual kindness and continued “who knows what her secret is…”.
I’m a witch, I thought fearlessly. Look I just turned his acidity into a smile. Biddibi boddibi goo!
