Il risveglio / The awakening
Di cosa vi stupite?
Del fatto che esista ancora il razzismo?
Deve sempre accadere qualcosa di brutto per smuovere leggermente le coscienze, come se questi sciagurati eventi risvegliassero la parte migliore dell’essere umano, che vive per il resto del tempo in un sonno profondo.
Neanche fosse stata punta dal fuso come la Bella Addormentata, ma di certo se a lei bastava il bacio del Principe Azzurro per essere risvegliata e per fare sciogliere l’incantesimo, alla coscienza serve l’evento catastrofico.
Direi che è chiara la differenza fra la favola e la realtà ma, vogliamo svegliarci una volta per tutte?
Sono state uccise milioni di persone a causa della persecuzione razziale… milioni… ma sapete quanti sono… a partire dal Medioevo fino ad arrivare all’Olocausto e, sebbene oggi si sia attenuato questo genocidio, non è stato completamente azzerato.
George Floyd è una delle ultime vittime, non dimentichiamoci però di tutte quelle persone uccise negli attentati, come quello atroce avvenuto in Nuova Zelanda a Christchurch lo scorso anno. Non conosciamo il nome di ciascuna vittima, ma meritano di essere ricordati perché non ci dobbiamo stupire ancora di fronte a questa barbarie.
La coscienza deve risvegliare in noi tutti un unico desiderio, la pace.
Pace, sapete cosa significa veramente questa parola?
L’esatto contrario di quello che stiamo vivendo, vedendo e sentendo… quello è il significato di pace!

Something bad must always happen to slightly move the consciences, as if these unfortunate events awakened the best part of the human being, who lives in a deep sleep for the rest of the time.
Not even she had been stung by the spindle like the Sleeping Beauty, but certainly if she was enough to be awakened for the kiss of the Prince Charming and letting the spell dissolve, the conscience needs the catastrophic event.
I would say, it’s clear the difference between the fairy tale and reality, but do we want to wake up once and for all?
Millions of people were killed as a result of racial persecution… millions… but you know how many they are… from the Middle Ages up to the Holocaust and although this genocide has eased today, it has not been completely eliminated.
Mr. George Floyd is one of the latest victims, but let’s not forget about all other people killed in the attacks, such as the atrocious one that took place in Christchurch, New Zealand, last year. We don’t know every single victim’s name but they deserve to be remembered though, because we shouldn’t be surprised yet, in front of this barbarism.
Conscience must awaken in us only one desire, peace.
Peace, do you know exactly what this word really means?
The opposite of what we are experiencing, seeing and hearing… that is the meaning of peace!
