I can breathe

Leggi in italiano

Time is relative, Einstein said, yet I feel it’s slipping away from me.

I integrated myself into a system that runs faster and faster and at times I have the feeling of living in apnea, because if I stopped to take a breath I would lose that fraction of a second necessary to… yes.. a… …to what really?

Damn, but why am I running?

I stopped a while to think about it and the first answer that came to my mind is the following:

– I run to prove that I’m fast enough and thus good enough.

But being fast or good doesn’t exactly make me happy, it just controls my need to prove to others that I’m worth too.

Here, precisely within this awareness, time loses its relativity, passes by and goes away.

Of course, it would pass anyway, except that instead of apnea there could be a good breath of fresh air and rather than pleasing others, we could listen to our real needs and do what makes us happiest.

I’m convinced that a long breath is worth more than a medal hanging on the wall and that our value, mostly, shouldn’t be conditioned by the judgment of others.

We are worth, because we are unique and special.

Time is relative, how many luminaries still have to repeat it to us?

So, let’s turn off the time lapse button and don’t miss it.

I no longer want to live in apnea because I can breathe and you?
