One… two… three…

Leggi in italiano

“Wow how nice… finally!” I say with joy after learning we can start moving.

After all, this lockdown forced us to live in a very slowed down dimension, about two month in slow motion and we know after a while we get tired, with all the good intentions though, dedicating time to houseworks, family, personal interests… to safeguard health, the moment comes when it’s physiologically necessary to acquire our freedom of action.

Frankly, the persistence on this kind of a slowed life, induced and not chosen, has devastating effects on many aspects… on mood as well, imagine how we could behave if it keeps up like this:

«Heeeelllooooo…hoooow…aaare..yoooou…?»

«Weeeellll…leeeeet’ss saaaaaay…ooooh…»

Ok, just at “hooooow” and I’ve already started to yawn… but thanks to the requirement of the masks, nobody would have noticed! By the way, who tells me that you’re not giving me a raspberry instead of a smile?!

Anyway, I’m ready, I’m getting ready to go outside and I see many other people along the street, every single person two meters away from each other. They’re not moving, so I ask my next spaced person:

«Hey you!» everyone turn except him, that’s ok, maybe I spoke aloud or finally a single sound has just broken the coat of silence, which until then warmed us and I continue «Hey, why you’re standing all still?»

«We’re waiting for the start, don’t you see over there there is someone who are counting?»

«One who’s counting? What does this mean… frankly I don’t understand… can you give more details?»

«Sssshhht silence please, he is speaking» they answer me in chorus and at that moment I hear an amplified voice in a megaphone “READY… STEADY… GO!” and everyone starts running, so I run too… but I’m not sure why.

“ONE… TWO… THREE………. STAR!”

All stopped but I keep running followed by scared looks of other people.

I keep going and I get closer and closer to that guy with the megaphone and I recognize him, yes, it’s the Prime Minister Mr. Conte (one that counts), who is showing me the stop sign with the yellow card in one hand.

«Good morning Mr Prime Minister, what are you doing here and what game are we playing at?»

«Today is May the 4th and you play one two three, star! whoever moves when I say star, is warned.»

I knew it, that’s where the trick is! We are on probation but he has not been so clear explaining the rules.

But for the first time I don’t give a damn about being warned, I just want to run as far as I want and as much as I want… I want to hug… travel… I want to live… because it’s necessary to start over, again, then I look him and say:

«I want to LIVE Mr Prime Minister, stop playing around!»

    Cara Cristiana,
    Buona domenica

      Cara Elisa,

Grazie ❤️🍓
